The French Atlantic port of Le Havre handled a record 11,434 cruise visitors on 9 September.
The passengers arrived on Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Infinity, Costa Cruises’ Costa Neo-Romantica and Luminosa and AIDA Cruises’ AIDAsol.
On 19 September 2013, Le Havre hosted four ships simultaneously – including MSC Cruises’ MSC Magnifica, Celebrity Infinity, Pullmantur Cruises’ Empress and Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ Astor – which brought a total of 9,408 crew and passengers to the port.
Commenting on the new one-day passenger records, Valerie Conan, cruise director of Le Havre’s Tourist Office, said: “Will this new record be beaten on 16 September, on the occasion of another quadruple call?”
