Red Funnel Ferries has launched a new points-based loyalty scheme for passengers who regularly sail on its ferries across the Solent between Southampton and the Isle of Wight, UK.

My Red Funnel Rewards is the first loyalty scheme of its kind for the cross-Solent market and allows members to automatically earn four points for every £1 spent on foot passenger tickets, new vehicle bookings, and food and beverages. Earned points, which are each worth 1p, can be used to buy passenger tickets, make vehicle bookings or purchase food and beverages from any ReFuel or Steam Coffee outlet onboard the ferries.

All Red Funnel’s Season Ticket and Saver Ticket holders who are My Reward members will earn points when renewing their tickets. Travel Card holders, who already enjoy discounts of up to 20%, will make even greater savings when making vehicle bookings, buying passenger tickets or when purchasing food and drinks.

“We are pleased so many customers have pre-registered for My Rewards and we look forward to welcoming many more now the scheme has been officially launched,” said Kevin George, Red Funnel CEO. “It is free to join and members can start earning points immediately, effectively reducing the cost of cross-Solent travel by 4%. This is in addition to the savings already available for frequent travellers and those travelling at off-peak times.”

Thousands of new and existing customers who pre-registered to join the scheme when it was first announced on 7 August 2015, can now access their My Rewards account online and start spending the points they have earned to date.
