Work has begun to refurbish Villa Vie Residences’ vessel Villa Vie Odyssey in Belfast, Northern Ireland, ahead of its three-and-a-half-year world cruise.
The 929-passenger ship, which was formerly operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines as Braemar, will undergo a number of operational enhancements. The cruise line took delivery of the ship in March 2024.
The dry dock refurbishment of Villa Vie Odyssey is scheduled to be complete on 21 May
The refurbishment project is being carried out by shipbuilder Harland & Wolff and is scheduled to be completed by 21 May. The departure date for is world cruise has therefore been rescheduled from 15 May from Southampton, UK, to 30 May from Belfast.
“We are excited about our latest accomplishments and our upcoming launch of Villa Vie Odyssey and the enhancements we are making to ensure an exceptional experience for all our residents,” said Mikael Petterson, chief executive officer of Villa Vie Residences. “The delay in departure is a necessary operational adjustment aimed at upholding the highest standards of service and safety.”
Villa Vie Odyssey is scheduled to re-enter service on 30 May 2024
