Resorts World Cruises’ Genting Dream has arrived in Melaka, Malaysia, for the first time. The 4,500-passenger cruise ship is now offering a new two-night itinerary, which departs Singapore each Sunday and sails to Melaka.

Chinese actress Fan BingBing, who is also Visit Melaka Year 2024 Ambassador, waved the ship off as it left Singapore. On arrival to the Malaysian city, the ship and its passengers were welcomed by Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, Melaka chief minister. He also exchanged mementos with Michael Goh, president of Resorts World Cruises, (pictured above), during a special ceremony held at the modern Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex.

“On behalf of Resorts World Cruises, we are excited to have our Genting Dream cruise ship arrive in Melaka today and provide our guests with a new and exciting destination,” said Goh. “Melaka has so much to offer as a tourist destination and we are committed towards developing the growth of inbound cruise passengers, which will ultimately contribute further to the success of the Visit Melaka 2024 campaign.”

Disembarking passengers were treated to special excursion packages showcasing places of interest. These packages were developed in a collaboration between the cruise line and Melaka Tourism and the owners of the attractions, including the Melaka River Cruise, Taming Sari Tower, the History and Ethnography Museum and Encore Melaka.

“The Melaka state government remains highly committed to offering a variety of exciting shore excursion packages for the guests of the Genting Dream,” said Yusoh. “I am confident that the weekly arrival of the Genting Dream in Melaka will not only boost the local state tourism economy, but also strengthened Melaka’s position as a key cruising destination for more international cruise lines.”
