Resorts World Cruises is to revert to the StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands, the cruise line has announced.
A brand transition will take place over a three month period, moving the company away from the Resorts World Cruises brand which was launched in June 2022 to restart cruising in Asia following the Covid-19 pandemic. Resorts World Cruises’ fleet will be split into StarCruises and Dream Cruises vessels, with Resorts World One being renamed Star Navigator, joining Star Voyager under the StarCruises brand. Genting Dream, meanwhile, will come under the Dream Cruises brand.
The StarCruises brand will aim to provide affordable cruising with mid-sized ships of around 2,000 passengers. Itineraries will be short and port-intensive, aimed at both domestic and fly-cruise passengers.
Star Navigator will begin four-night sailings from Singapore to Krabi in Thailand and Penang in Malaysia on 7 March 2025. It will then be deployed to Keelung, Taiwan, for an eight-month period starting on 28 March, offering 13 different itineraries from the island to destinations in Japan and South Korea. Star Voyager will set sail on 26 March 2025, operating from seasonal homeports in Singapore; Jakarta, Indonesia; Melaka, Malaysia; Bangkok, Thailand; and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Dream Cruises, meanwhile, will aim to provide a luxury cruise experience in ships with over 3,000-passenger capacity. Itineraries will be aimed at fly-cruise passengers. Genting Dream, the brand’s flagship, will be homeported in Singapore year-round, offering itineraries to Malaysia and Thailand.
