Roemeg has added two new materials to its fire resistant and retardant floor panel range for the passenger shipping industry.
The company now offers Sterker fire-retardant floor panels, which are made from Italian poplar plywood and feature a tongue-and-groove connection at four sides to ensure they can be installed easily. It also offers Mera fire-retardant plywood, which has been designed to make furniture onboard ships, yachts, platforms and more.
Both materials are certified according to the Marine Equipment Directive and are lighter than other fire-retardant boards.
“Now that Mera and Sterker have been added to our Roelite panels, our collection lightweight fire retardant materials satisfy a growing demand in the market,” said Rens Schouwenaars, CEO of Roemeg.
Roemeg also moved to a new business complex in December 2014.
The company, which has supplied products to various cruise operators around the world, now has a 2,300 sqm warehouse and a 500sqm showroom. Easier to access than Roemeg’s previous location, the showroom displays several examples of its Mariline Marine furniture range.
“Moving to our new complex was a great way to start the year, “ said Schouwenaars.
