Royal Caribbean International’s Jewel of the Seas is to homeport in Dubai in winter 2019-2020, marking the first time the cruise line has returned to the United Arab Emirates country in two years.
Jewel of the Seas will reposition from Rome in Italy – which has been her Mediterranean homeport for the past 10 years – to Dubai on a 16-night Suez Canal cruise from 30 November to 16 December 2019. The ship will then sail a series of seven-night Arabian Gulf ‘butterfly’ itineraries from Dubai to various destinations in the Middle East and the Gulf of Arabia until March 2020.
One itinerary will take guests to Khasab and Muscat in Oman, Abu Dhabi, and Sir Bani Yas in the United Arab Emirates. The second will visit Bahrain, Doha in Qatar, Sir Bani Yas and Abu Dhabi. Sir Bani Yas, Doha and Bahrain are all new destinations for Royal Caribbean.
“We have seen a surge in interest in Middle Eastern holidays from this market so we are excited to announce that we are positioning a ship back in the region next year, “ said Ben Bouldin, managing director for Royal Caribbean International UK and Ireland. “The enticing new destinations, enhanced by a suite of exciting shore excursions and complemented by our extraordinary ship will be the talk of the town for agents across the country.”
