Netherlands engineering firms Royal Haskoning and DHV signed a merger agreement to become Royal HaskoningDHV, on 21 June.

The amalgamation accelerates the Amersfoort-based company’s plans to expand its project management, engineering and consultancy business internationally, with it now ranked in the top 10 of independently owned, non-listed companies and in the top 40 overall.

Royal HaskoningDHV chairman Bertrand van Ee: “We are absolutely delighted to launch Royal HaskoningDHV. To provide solutions to today’s challenges, size matters. Our newly merged company will apply its multidisciplinary skills, knowledge, experience and history to deliver added value to our clients on a wider global reach. Our pooled resources will enable us to invest in developing the necessary innovations for a brighter and sustainable future.”

The new enterprise, which undertakes 30,000 projects each year with a significant proportion of these in the maritime market, is particularly keen to capitalise on opportunities in India, South-East Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia and Brazil.
