Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) has appointed an executive leadership team for its newbuild Seven Seas Explorer, which is due to debut in July 2016.
The team will be led by the ship’s master Captain Stanislas Gerard Jean Mercier De Lacombe, who has more than 20 years of seafaring experience and has captained both Seven Seas Navigator and Seven Seas Mariner since joining RSCC in 2009. He will be responsible for commanding the overall operation, crew and safety of Seven Seas Explorer.
Meanwhile, Franck Galzy, general manager who has worked in various hospitality roles since joining RSCC in 1999, will oversee the delivery of hotel, food and beverage services. Executive chef Aurelien Dumeylet will supervise all aspects of the menu and food preparation, including for the new Pan-Asian specialty restaurant, Pacific Rim, and French restaurant, Chartreuse.
Luca Griggi, who has been at RSSC since 2012, will serve as chief engineer, assuming responsibility for all of Seven Seas Explorer’s technical, engineering, electrical and mechanical operations. Entertainment and onboard activities will be managed by cruise director Ray Solaire, who started at RSSC in 2008 and has served as cruise director aboard all of the line’s ships. The vessel will also be staffed by nearly 550 other highly trained staff and crew members.
The 56,000gt Seven Seas Explorer will accommodate 750 guests and feature suites, staterooms, lounges, gourmet restaurants and more. The ship will embark on her maiden voyage is scheduled for 20 July 2016 and she will spend an inaugural season in Europe before heading to Miami for a series of Caribbean voyages.
