Un-Cruise Adventures is to christen its 64-passenger Safari Voyager on 20 December in San José del Cabo, Baja, in Mexico.
The line acquired the vessel, which will replace the line’s 86-passenger Safari Endeavour in Mexico’s Sea of Cortés, in March this year. Previously named Sea Voyager, the ship underwent renovation work in Columbia and features 33 outside view staterooms, a spacious lounge with 20 floor-to-ceiling windows, a full-service bar, an outside deck with lounge chairs and a separate dining room.
During the refurbishment, the ship was also fitted with a library and a massage room, while the sun deck was transformed into an al fresco public space with fitness equipment and lounge chairs. A platform was also fitted to the stern of the boat, providing guests with easy access to water-based adventure activities such as snorkelling, skiff excursions, kayaking and paddle boarding.
Safari Voyager will sail four, year-round itineraries from the homeports of Cabo, Guaymas and La Paz. She is then scheduled to sail on year-round Luxury Adventure trips in Central America from December 2015, spending the winters in Costa Rica, summers in Belize and transiting the Panama Canal in spring and autumn. Safari Endeavour will resume its service in the Sea of Cortés during the winter.
The vessel is the lines’ eighth ship and the third expedition vessel sailing on the company’s Luxury Adventures itineraries. Un-Cruise Adventure also has two other ships offering Luxury Adventure cruises, three ships sailing Active Adventures and one replica Victorian-style steamer sailing Heritage Adventures.
