Saga Cruises’ Saga Sapphire has returned to service following a two-month wet dock at Blohm+Voss Repair’s yard in Hamburg, Germany.

During the ship’s wet dock, engineers carried out maintenance work on her main engines and in various passenger and crew areas.

“Regular passengers will notice we’ve introduced a brand new deck covering around the exterior swimming pool area and the creation of an extension to the popular Aviators bar in order to provide more space that our passengers can enjoy,” said Stuart McQuaker, COO of Saga Shipping.

In summer 2019, Saga will launch a new 55,900gt ship, which will carry less than 1,000 passengers and offer exterior balconies in all cabins.
