Saguenay helped Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ Marco Polo to celebrate its 50th anniversary when the ship docked in the Canadian port on 15 August.

Marco Polo and her guests were welcomed by local residents and dignitaries, while 50 people were presented with blueberry pies by volunteers dressed in Saguenay’s traditional colours. Cruise visitors and other locals were also able to have a photo taken in front of Saguenay’s new sculpted letters by a professional photographer.

Marco Polo will return to Saguenay again on 26 September with 356 crew members and 848 passengers, mostly from Britain.

Saguenay is to handle a record 38 ship calls and more than 50,000 passengers and crew over a 33-day period in 2015.
