Young students from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, Italy are to perform live recitals onboard Costa Cruises’ Costa neoClassica between January to the end of May 2016.

Costa neoClassica will host a group of 14 students from the conservatory who will provide four matinee performances on each cruise. Each show will be performed by a small orchestra consisting of a conductor and seven musicians, including a pianist, a violinist, another strings player, a woodwind player, a guitarist, a tenor and a soprano. The group will play various solo and ensemble pieces, ranging from classical, baroque and opera scores, the soundtracks of 20th century films.

Open to all guests, the matinees were organised to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the CostaClub, Costa’s customer loyalty programme. Guests will also be able to enjoy Broadway-style productions, dance performances and lessons with professional dancers.

Costa neoClassica will sail 13-day cruises to various Mediterranean and Greek destinations between 31 January and 18 May. While in Greece, guests will be able to visit places such as Kalamata, Nauplia, ancient Messene, Mycenae, Corinth, the Byzantine ghost town of Mystra, Athens and Volos, the gateway for tours to Meteora, home to ancient orthodox monasteries built into smooth rock.
