Scenic Cruises’ Scenic Jewel was launched on 12 April 2013 and is currently completing its maiden voyage.

The AUS$27 million vessel is the seventh of the line’s ‘Space-Ships’, which include Scenic Crystal, Diamond, Emerald, Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire.

As part of the renovation, the 169-passenger vessel has luxury suites with private balconies and sun lounges, as well as new carpets, soft furnishings, furniture and 32-inch Samsung HD TVs linked to Mac mini computers. The reception has been revitalised with new floors, light fixtures and marble desks. The vessel also includes a floating gallery of Australian artworks and sculptures

The complimentary wi-fi system has also been upgraded to use both satellite and UMTS mobile technology, while passengers can access a private butler service, a complimentary mini-bar and L’Occitane products.

New dining venues including the River Café, Table La Rive, the upgraded Portobellos restaurant, while the Panorama Lounge has a new bar, additional coffee machines and Eurocave wine dispensers.

“The rebuild means that no matter when or where our guests sail with us in Europe, they will enjoy the same ultimate experience of all-inclusive luxury river cruising,” said Glen Moroney, managing director of Scenic Cruises.
