Southampton Cargo Handling (SCH) has handled its first cruise ship turnaround operations of 2016 at Liverpool Cruise Terminal in the UK.

SCH, which will exclusively manage all cruise ship operations at Liverpool for up to three years, supplied stevedoring, stores handling, car parking and mooring services for Fred. Olsen Cruise Line’s Boudicca. The ship, which arrived after calling at Falmouth where SCH also provided services, embarked 900 passengers at Liverpool for a nine-night cruise to the Norwegian fjords. Boudicca will make a total of 16 turnaround calls at Liverpool this year.

“This was the first turnaround operation of the new season for our new Liverpool-based workforce and they performed well,” said Kevin Hulme, SCH’s operations director. “As we move forward, there will be minor refinements but we are on course to ensure that Liverpool delivers the efficient and high quality service that cruise operators expect.”

In total, SCH will provide services for more than 50 cruise ship calls in Liverpool this year.

SCH and its sister companies provide cruise ship services in several UK ports, including Liverpool, Southampton, Portsmouth and Falmouth.
