Green Tech Marine is to install 28 scrubbers on six Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

This spring, the company’s compact scrubber systems will replace the current silencers on Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Sun. Installation is expected to be completed by 2016.

Green Tech Marine also supplied the scrubbers on the line’s Hawaii-based Pride of America last year and will deliver ten scrubbers to the company’s two newbuilds, Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Bliss, which are under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

“We remain committed to environmental protection at Norwegian Cruise Line,” said Kevin Sheehan, the line’s CEO. “Therefore, it is important for us to invest in new technologies, such as Green Tech’s innovative scrubber systems, in order to reduce fuel emissions, overall energy consumption, and the company’s environmental footprint.”

Green Tech Marine is a world leading scrubber supplier that develops innovative, environmentally friendly, high-performance, energy-saving solutions to the marine industry.
