Sea Cloud Cruises has taken delivery of its new sailing ship Sea Cloud Spirit. She is the third ship in the cruise line’s fleet, joining Sea Cloud and Sea Cloud II.
The new ship will have capacity for 136 passengers in 69 cabins, 25 of which will be equipped with balconies. She will sail the majority of each of her trips under wind power, thanks to her 44,100 square feet of sails, which take the crew almost one hour to hoist by hand. Onboard spaces will include a wellness area equipped with three treatment rooms, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath and a hairdressing salon, as well as a separate fitness area on the sundeck of the ship.
Sea Cloud Spirit is scheduled to sail a 10-night, roundtrip maiden voyage from Rome, Italy, departing on 14 September. She will spend the autumn in the Western Mediterranean, before moving to the Canary Islands for the winter season.
