Princess Cruises’ Sea Princess is to undergo a 16-day refurbishment in October 2017 before she begins her season in Brisbane, Australia the following month.
To take place in Singapore, the refit will see Princess Luxury Beds being installed in all of the ship’s cabins. Developed exclusively for Princess by US sleep expert Michael Breus, the mattresses feature individually wrapped coils and two-inch pillow topper to deliver enhanced comfort.
Other onboard updates will include new décor and an updated menu in The Wheelhouse Bar, a transformation of the Café’ Corniche menu, and three reimagined youth centres that have been designed in partnership with Discovery Channel as part of Princess’s Discovery at Sea programme.
Sea Princess will also have a new wide-angle Movies under the Stars Screen with advanced outdoor light sensors that will double the image quality of the previous system. In a Sea Princess first, the ship will offer interactive show experience The Voice of the Ocean, which is inspired by international TV show ‘The Voice’ and will feature live performances, professional mentors, blind auditions, judges and the iconic rotating chairs. New musical Encore, which is directed and choreographed by world-renowned creative director Danny Teeson, will also debut on the ship.
“As part of our Come Back New promise, we are reimagining Sea Princess with impressive upgrades in dining, entertainment and bedding,” said Stuart Allison, Princess Cruises’ vice president of Australia and New Zealand. “We’ve also invested in delivering this promise to our youngest cruisers and their families by adding to youth and kids’ clubs.”
Sea Princess will sail from Brisbane to Sydney in early November.
