Seabourn has returned to Alaska for the first time in 15 years, kicking off its 2017 season in the region with an 11-day ‘Ultimate Alaskan Voyage’ from Vancouver, Canada on 1 June.
Between June and September 2017, the 458-guest Seabourn Sojourn will sail a series of 11-, 12- and 14-day cruises from Anchorage (Seward), Alaska and Vancouver to some of the most popular ports in Alaska. The ship will return in June 2018.
Seabourn’s Alaska voyages include calls to places such as Alert Bay, Klemtu, Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Kenai Fjords and the Inland Passage. As part of her 11-day cruises, Seabourn Sojourn will also offer four sailings to remote Glacier Bay National Park, one of the world’s largest international protected areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Seabourn’s expedition team of naturalists, science, wildlife and historical experts will also offer optional guided kayak and Zodiac tours to places such as Misty Fjords and the Tracy Arm Fjord. The same team will offer wildlife sightings and other educational activities onboard the ship.
“We’re going to offer an Alaska experience with no compromises – with ultra-luxury onboard, combined with adventurous off-ship experiences,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “Our return to Alaska gives us the opportunity to do what we do best: share the highlights of an extraordinary destination, from postcard-perfect mountains and glaciers, to picturesque frontier towns, to the curated onshore experiences that today’s luxury traveller is looking for.”
