Ultra-luxury cruise line Seabourn is to return to Alaska and British Columbia in 2019, following high guest demand and two successful consecutive seasons in the region.
Between June and October, Seabourn Sojourn will take a total of 4,500 guests to the region during 10 cruises, which will range from 11 to 14 days in length.
Itineraries will take guests to destinations such as Anchorage, Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway and Wrangell in Alaska, as well as Vancouver, Prince Rupert and the First Nations villages of Klemtu and Alert Bay in British Columbia. Guests will also be able to enjoy scenic cruising in the Tracy Arm Fjord, Endicott Arm Fjord, Misty Fjords and Kenai Fjords, and will also be able to traverse the Canadian Inside Passage.
All the 2019 voyages will offer optional ‘Ventures by Seabourn’ shore excursions, which will include hikes, wildlife-watching tours and guided Zodiac and kayak trips that start directly from the ship. These excursions will be led by a team of naturalists, science, wildlife and historical experts, who will also host complimentary formal presentations as part of the Seabourn Conversations programme onboard the vessel.
“There is so much wilderness and wildlife to see and discover in Alaska and British Columbia, and our guests can’t get enough of it,” said Chris Austin, Seabourn's senior vice president of Global Marketing and Sales. “We’re excited to be heading north in 2019 for the third year in a row and to offer the ‘Ultimate Alaska’ experience, showing our luxury clients just how beautiful and remarkable the region is while they’re sailing on the finest resort at sea.”
Guests can also enjoy Seabourn’s optional five-day Denali Experience before or after select cruises in Alaska. As part of the fully escorted, custom-designed overland adventure, guests will have the opportunity to stay in luxury onshore accommodation, take a trip over the glaciers in a flightseeing plane and take a guided walk in Denali National Park to look for grizzly and black bears, wolves, moose, caribou and other animals in their natural habitat.
