SeaDream Yacht Club has become the first cruise operator to visit various ports in the Black Sea since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the last week of September, SeaDream II called at Bozcaada, Turkey; Constanta, Romania; Odessa, Ukraine and Varna, Bulgaria. On 26 September, it also became the first cruise ship to visit Burgas, Bulgaria in more than three years.

SeaDream II will mark another milestone on 2 October when it becomes the first vessel to berth in Istanbul, Turkey since the pandemic. The ship’s passengers will also be the first to use the new $1.7 billion Galataport Istanbul facility, which is the world’s first underground cruise terminal. To commemorate the occasion, the port authority will give guests a tote bag filled with Turkish Delight sweets, Turkish coffee and a traditional evil eye talisman.

“It’s exciting for our guests to experience new, unique destinations, and these regions are pleased to see tourism returning,” said Emilio Freeman, vice president of itineraries and destinations at SeaDream.
