Sealy UK supplied more than 4,000 Posturepedic mattresses as part of P&O Cruises’ recent multi-million pound refurbishment project on Ventura.

Supplier to P&O and Cunard, the Cumbrian company carried out the vessel bed refit in spring, as part of a move by both cruise lines to gradually refit their fleets with bespoke Posturepedic beds.

“We’re thrilled that the quality of skill and workmanship in our workforce based in Cumbria has led to this order and that our products are the mattresses of choice for Carnival brands here in the UK,” said Graham Carberry, Sealy’s contract director.

Following the revitalisation, 3,000-passenger Ventura incorporates many of the popular features found onboard sister ship Azura.

The vessel now has 18 single cabins and a full wifi service, a new atrium dance floor, a library with fixed PCs and a perfumery. Other features include The Retreat, an open-air spa terrace with seating and a pool, as well as The Glasshouse, which has replaced Las Ramblas bar and restaurant. East restaurant also offers a new menu designed by Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar.
