Seatrade Europe is to focus on the theme of scaling sustainability when it takes place in Hamburg, Germany, from 6-8 September 2023.

The convention will unite over 300 cruise executives and 250 exhibitors and offer full conference programme with more than 80 industry speakers. The event will begin with the State of the European Cruise Industry keynote session, which will be moderated by Mary Bond, group director of Seatrade Cruise.

The session will explore the future of the cruise industry, current market conditions and projected growth trends, and how the industry can build a path to sustained growth. Participants will include: Felix Eichhorn, president of AIDA Cruises; Hervé Gastinel, CEO of Ponant; Marie-Caroline Laurent, director general at Cruise Lines International Association Europe; Michael McCarthy, chairman of Cruise Europe; and Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises (all pictured).

“After a long hiatus, we are thrilled to be back in Europe and reunite the cruise community as we convene for Seatrade Europe,” said Chiara Giorgi, global brand and event director for Seatrade Cruise. “We look forward to welcoming an influential group of industry leaders to spearhead discussions under the event’s overarching theme, Scaling Sustainably. The keynote panel will serve as a compelling catalyst that sparks conversations on what lies ahead as the cruise industry continues to reinvent and expand.”

Seatrade Europe expects over 500 guests from 40 countries to attend the convention, which will offer an array of discussions, presentations and workshops focusing on sustainability within the industry.

Sessions on 7 September will be dedicated to river cruising, enabling attendees to hear from operators, charterers, suppliers and destinations playing a key role in the future of river cruising in Europe, and further afield.

Seatrade Europe attendees will also have access to Marine Interiors Cruise & Ferry Global Expo, Europe’s first stand-alone trade fair focused on interior design in the passenger shipping industry.
