Celebrity Cruises has launched Signature Event Sailings, a series of exclusive holidays allowing guests to experience iconic global events and celebrations as part of their holiday.
Providing cruise passengers with unique access to a series of well-known onshore events across the globe, the Signature Event Sailings will be available on sailings in the 2015-2016 season. In addition to shore excursions, the line will provide onboard entertainment inspired by each event.
As part of Celebrity Constellation’s 12-night Turkey and Greece itinerary, guests will be able to visit the battlefields of Gallipoli, one of the world’s most historically significant military sites, during the 100th Anniversary of Anzac Day. In addition, they will be able to tour the Gallipoli Peninsula and attend a special viewing of the 100th Anniversary of Anzac Day service televised from the beaches of Gallipoli onboard the ship. Historian and author Peter Donovan will also give a lecture about World War One and Two, plus there will be a commemorative onboard ceremony.
Later in the year, Celebrity Constellation will take guests to Venice’s Redentore Festival, which dates back to 1577. Part of the ship’s 14-night Turkey and Black Sea cruise, which leaves Istanbul on 5 July 2015, the call will also enable guests to watch a fireworks display in St Mark’s Basin and enjoy an onboard, themed poolside and interactive masque event inspired by a Venetian masquerade ball.
Meanwhile guests sailing on Celebrity Equinox’s ten-night Mediterranean cruise from the Spanish port of Barcelona can visit the French port of Cannes to attend an exclusive VIP rooftop celebration at the Cannes Film Festival. Onboard, passengers can enjoy Celebrity Cruises’ film festival – a celebration of past Cannes Film Festival winners – and watch live presentations from a film historian.
In July 2015, passengers sailing onboard Celebrity Silhouette’s 12-night British Isles cruise can attend the British Open golfing championship in Edinburgh, Scotland. Celebrating the championship’s 144th year, guests can enjoy various VIP experiences including onboard events hosted by a golf professional, entry to the historic championship in St Andrews, the opportunity to play golf on courses in three different locations during the sailing, and the rare chance to walk the Old Course.
During Celebrity Infinity’s 14-night South America and Rio Carnival cruise in January 2016, passengers can join revellers on the Sambadrome of Rio and watch the Samba Parade in grandstand or VIP seating. Onboard the ship, professional samba dancers will perform and teach the guests before they take part in a Latin-themed celebration.
Guests can also experience Chinese New Year in Hong Kong as part of Celebrity Millennium’s 14-night cruise that departs on 31 January 2016. While in Hong Kong, guests can explore historic landmarks, such as the Wong Tai Sin Temple and Kowloon Walled City Park, and participate in a local tradition by visiting the Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree. Onboard the ship, guests can participate in Tai Chi lessons and enjoy performances by Shaolin Monks.
From 2015, guests will also have the opportunity to take advantage of Celebrity’s new Suite Class offering. New luxurious additions for guests booking to stay in a suite include a dedicated, suites-only restaurant, VIP lounge, and complimentary ‘all in’ benefits, such as premium beverages, dining at any speciality restaurant and unlimited internet access. Suite guests will also receive priority check-in and embarkation and will enjoy the Celebrity Cruises butler service.
