Silver Muse called at the Port of Tarragona in Spain on 9 April as part of her maiden cruise after she was delivered to owner Silversea Cruises by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri on 3 April.

Arriving with 400 US and European travel agents and journalists onboard, Silver Muse is the first of 40 cruise liners that will call in Tarragona this year. Her passengers were invited to PortAventura for an exclusive tour of the first Ferrari Land theme park in Europe. They attended the debut test of the 112-metre-high vertical accelerator – Europe’s tallest rollercoaster – the Formula 1 simulators, two 55-metre accelerated drop towers, and the electric vehicle circuit.

Built at Fincantieri’s Genoa Sestri Ponente yard, Silver Muse is Silversea’s ninth cruise ship and is an evolution from Silver Spirit, which was delivered by the shipbuilder’s Ancona yard in 2009.

Weighing 40,700gt, the luxury vessel can accommodate 596 passengers and 411 crew members and offers a swimming pool, an exclusive spa area, a casino, a gym, a 327-seat theatre and eight dining venues. The ship also offers guests the highest number of large suites – Silver, Royal, Grand and Owner’s – in the Silversea fleet, and the greatest number of connecting suites.

“Since the laying of the keel in December 2015, Silversea and Fincantieri have been working closely together to produce one of the finest ships to leave this shipyard and we look forward to welcoming our guests onboard,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, Silversea chairman. “On behalf of everybody at Silversea, I would like to thank Ficantieri for its tireless commitment to deliver Silver Muse to us on schedule and to such a high standard of craftsmanship.”
