Silversea Cruises has created 20 overland adventures to complement its World Cruise onboard Silver Whisper in 2016.
Designed to provide guests with time to visit some of the world’s natural, historical and cultural wonders, the overland adventures will be available on Silver Whisper’s 115-day World Cruises, which will depart Florida, US, in January 2016. The ship will visit 51 ports in 31 countries before concluding her voyage in Venice, Italy.
“Our destination experts have specially crafted an inventive selection of overland explorations to enhance our guests’ world cruise experience,” said Lisa McAuley, commercial director for UK and Ireland at Silversea. “These unique opportunities blend together luxury and comfort with the authenticity of hands-on exciting adventures to reveal the amazing cultures, wildlife, and natural attractions that lie just beyond the ports of call.”
Silversea’s overland adventures include four days at the Mashpi nature sanctuary in the Andes Mountains, almost two days at Green Island Resort to explore Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, and two days at the UNESCO World Heritage city of Angkor Wat in Siam Reap, Cambodia.
Guests can also spend almost two days exploring the monasteries and temples in Myanmar’s former capital Mandalay, five days at Indian wildlife sanctuary Ranthambore National Park, and a chartered seaplane ride to Kandy in Sri Lanka. Here, guests will visit one of the world’s most important Buddhist sites, the Dalada Maligawa, where the Buddha’s sacred tooth relic is enshrined.
