Silversea Cruises’ eight ships are to offer 246 voyages to more than 800 destinations across seven continents in 2017.
Silversea’s four ocean ships – Silver Cloud, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Wind – will make inaugural visits to ports such as Sassnitz, Germany; Galway, Ireland; Bodø, Norway; Geraldton, Australia; Ilhabela, Brazil; Fredericia, Denmark; Gisborne, New Zealand; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Sir Bani Yas Island, United Arab Emirates.
Highlights of the ocean programme include Silver Whisper’s 116-day World Cruise from San Francisco, US to Monte Carlo, which departs on 6 January. Visiting 62 destinations in 25 countries, the ship will take a westward path, sailing through Hawaii, the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Sandakan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Arabia and the capitals of the Mediterranean.
Other highlights include a 63-day Circle South America roundtrip onboard Silver Spirit, four ten-day South Africa roundtrips from Cape Town on Silver Cloud, various Mediterranean, Northern European and Baltic cruises on Silver Cloud, Silver Spirit and Silver Wind.
“Every year Silversea strives to offer inspirational journeys that combine the luxury of intimate cruising with the thrill of making new cultural discoveries,” said Lisa McAuley, commercial director of UK and Ireland at Silversea. “We believe our voyage collection for 2017, with its wealth of longer, port-intensive cruises, will accomplish just that. From the rainforests of South America to the castles of Europe and the temples of Asia, guests will enjoy experiences that will enrich their lives for years to come.”
Silversea’s expedition fleet, which will expand to four ships in November 2017 when Silver Cloud joins Silver Explorer, Silver Discoverer and Silver Galapagos, will offer more than 100 cruises.
Featured among dozens of inaugural calls are destinations such as Ampangorinana, Nosy Komba (Madagascar); Aride Island, Seychelles; Maheshkhali Island, Bangladesh; Makura Island, Vanuatu; Isle of May, Scotland; and Grimsey Island, Iceland.
Following a refit and a conversion to an ice-class expedition ship, Silver Cloud will launch with a series of ten- to 19-day Antarctica voyages in November and December.
Meanwhile, Silver Explorer will continue to provide itineraries to Antarctica, South and Central America, the British Isles, Northern Canada, Greenland, and Arctic Norway, while Silver Galapagos will again operate year-round voyages to the Galápagos islands.
Guests wanting to explore Australia’s Kimberley Coast, Madagascar, Seychelles, Indonesia, Melanesia, Micronesia, Russian Far East and remote Alaska can opt for one of Silver Discoverer’s six expedition cruises between March and May.
