Silversea Cruises has opened booking for its 115-day ‘Venetian World Odyssey 2016’ cruise, which will enable guests to sail to 51 destinations in 31 countries.

Departing the US port of Fort Lauderdale on 5 January, Silver Whisper will sail through the Panama Canal to South America and the Pacific, enabling guests to explore Easter Island, Pitcairn Island, Tahiti and Bora Bora. The ship will then sail to various destinations in New Zealand, Australia and Asia, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali, Phuket in Thailand, and Myanmar. Guests will then visit India, Arabia and a range of Mediterranean ports before concluding their journey with two nights in Venice, Italy. The voyage also includes 13 multi-day port calls along the way, plus many late-night departures.

“A world cruise is an experienced traveller’s dream,” said Mike Bonner, general manager of Silversea in the UK. “Our intimate Silver Whisper offers the perfect setting for guests to mingle and form long-lasting friendships as they traverse our planet, discovering its ancient cultures, cosmopolitan cities, rainforests, golden beaches, coral wonders, and so much more. It truly is the voyage of a lifetime.”

Guests can participate in an onboard enrichment programme, which includes presentations and other activities led by destination experts, academics, journalists, diplomats and other specialists. In addition, the line will offer local entertainment, cooking demonstrations, wine-tasting sessions and regional dishes from the destinations on the ship’s itinerary.

All passengers sailing onboard Silver Whisper for the full 115 days can enjoy three complimentary World Cruise events. These include a masked ball in Venice, lunch on a private island in Sydney Harbour, Australia; and a chartered jet flight to India’s Taj Mahal for a tour followed by lunch. A further three complimentary Silversea Experiences will include Easter Island, Halong Bay in Vietnam and the Royal Opera House of Muscat in Oman.

In addition, these guests can enjoy Business Class flight and transfers between their home, the airport, hotel and Silver Whisper, as well as a complimentary baggage valet service. They can also attend an exclusive Bon Voyage gala reception, dinner and overnight stay at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Miami; a complimentary laundry service and internet package; and US$4,000 onboard spending credit per suite.
