Silversea Cruises will refurbish Silver Shadow in November as part of fleet-wide  Project Invictus upgrade initiative. The work will involve refurbishing all suites, corridors, the restaurants, casino and many other onboard spaces.

To enhance comfort onboard the 388-guest luxury ship, Silversea has taken inspiration from Silver Muse. The renovation will include the creation of a new atrium area on Deck 5 which is currently occupied by the lobby, boutique and casino. The atrium will be a social hub featuring an interactive reception area, boutiques and the Arts Café, where guests can enjoy art, coffees, pastries and sandwiches in the day and cocktails at night.

As part of the work, La Dame French restaurant will be expanded to serve 40 diners and Connoisseur’s Corner will move to Deck 8 to incorporate an outdoor smoking and seating area. The casino will also move alongside with updated décor, slot machines and gaming tables.

“We are committed to maintaining the impeccable standards of the Silversea experience and this major refurbishment of Silver Shadow represents a significant investment for the benefit of our guests,” said Roberto Martinoli, CEO of Silversea. “Whether relaxing in the new atrium or sipping a cognac in the expanded Connoisseur’s Corner, our guests will notice not only a revitalised look, but also greater choices and flexibility as a result of this project’s enhancements.”

The suites onboard Silver Shadow will receive a floor-to-ceiling refurbishment in line with the design and colour scheme of Silver Muse. All furniture in the Vista and Veranda suites will be renovated and the rooms will be fitted with upgraded lighting, carpets and headboards, while the Medallion, Silver, Grand, Royal and Owner’s suites will be redecorated with new colours and materials.

Guests will also be able to relax in some of the ship’s renovated spaces including the Observation Library, which will offer a collection of books with panoramic ocean views, and the Zagara Beauty Spa and Fitness Centre. The latter will feature new steam rooms and saunas, refurbished treatment rooms and advanced fitness equipment.

General refreshments will also take place in The Restaurant, La Terrazza, Panorama Lounge, The Bar, The Show Lounge, and Card/Conference Rooms. Furniture and flooring will be upgraded in the pool areas, and the jogging track will be resurfaced.

Silver Shadow will sail her first post-refurbishment voyage to the Caribbean on 3 December 2019 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
