Tall-ship operator Star Clippers will sail in Indonesian waters for the first time in 2017.
Sailing from Bali and Singapore, the four-mast Star Clipper will offer a total of 19 seven-, ten- and 11-day itineraries between 6 May and 14 October.
“The Indonesian waters will really bring out the very best of a Star Clippers cruise and the natural scenery and spectacular sights will provide an exceptional back-drop for our beautiful ship, Star Clipper,” said Mikael Krafft, Star Clippers’ founder and owner. “Guests will enjoy the most memorable sailings in some of the most beautiful waters in the world, while daytime activities will be eclectic, exotic and each day will bring opportunities for new adventures.”
Highlights of the itineraries include an opportunity to see Komodo Dragons and calls at the Marine National Park of Satonda, the island of Pulau Satonda, and the traditional village of Wera to see traditional handcrafted `Pinisi’ sailing ships being made and sailed.
Meanwhile in Java, guests will be able to enjoy an optional excursion to active volcano Mount Bromo, and the Borobudur Temple Compound, built in the 8th and 9th centuries. In Bali, they will also be able to visit the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple built on Lake Bratan.
Star Clippers will also offer complimentary watersports including snorkeling, kayaking and canoeing.
