Windstar Cruises will name the first of its three new, 106-suite, power yachts Star Pride when it launches in Europe in May 2014, as part of Global Windstar, the line’s fleet expansion and product development initiative with Xanterra Parks and Resorts.
Two additional yachts will be delivered to Windstar Cruises in April and May 2015, before beginning service in May 2015. The names of these yachts will be released in the coming weeks.
“Star Pride and the additional two yachts will fit perfectly into Windstar’s intimate, yacht-style cruising by offering a small-ship luxury cruise with 300 passengers or less in a casually elegant style going to places bigger ships cannot go,” said Hans Birkholz, Windstar Cruises’ CEO. “We are thrilled to now be able to offer even more intriguing choices in Europe for the 2014 season.”
Each of the 440-ft yachts will undergo a Windstar branded renovation before entering service and will feature the line’s signature deck barbecue, the open bridge policy and the sail-away party.
