Windstar Cruises’ Star Pride is to offer a range of itineraries throughout south-east Asia and Arabia, when she debuts in May 2014 following an extensive interior renovation project.

In 2015, Star Pride will sail an 18-day ‘Wonders of Arabia’ voyage from Athens, Greece to Dubai, UAE, visiting various locations in Egypt, Jordan and Oman. The ship will then offer a 15-day ‘Pearls of the Indian Ocean’ itinerary from Dubai to Singapore, as well as a ten-day ‘Singapore and the Malay Peninsula’ roundtrip.

Passengers can also visit a range of Unesco world heritage sites during a 14-day ‘Treasures of Southeast Asia’ trip from Singapore to Hong Kong and the imperial sites of Vietnam during a ten-day voyage from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Hong Kong.

“Small ship cruising is an incredible way to explore this part of the world,” said Hans Birkholz, Windstar Cruises’ CEO. “There are tremendous experiences to be had from the ancient cliff city of Petra to the colourful Ho Chi Minh City. This is our first journey beyond Europe, South Pacific and the Caribbean and we are delighted to announce Star Pride’s south-east Asia and Arabia deployment.”

Launching in May 2014, the 212-guest Star Pride is the first of three new yachts to join Windstar’s fleet as part of the Global Windstar project, the line’s fleet expansion and product development initiative with Xanterra Parks and Resorts. The all-suite ship will undergo several interior upgrades to reflect Windstar’s casual contemporary style and offer many signature Windstar experiences, including the Sail Away party, yacht deck barbecue gala, and open-bridge policy.
