Strongbox Marine Furniture has designed and supplied furniture for the British Royal Navy’s Type 45 destroyer and carrier projects. Along with the cabin supplier, Strongbox came up with an aluminium design that met the design criteria.

These designs were then adopted for the new build Type 45 – Daring Class Destroyers. Strongbox was awarded the contract, and went on to supply all the cabin furniture for six destroyers.

Following this, Strongbox was involved in the initial design of furniture for Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers. The company was again awarded the contract for the design and manufacture of all the furniture for both aircraft carriers. (HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince Charles). Strongbox is also currently participating in projects for the Indian, Russian and Canadian Navies.

According to the company, experience gained from these naval projects can be easily transferred across to commercial projects, including cruise and ferry.
