Star Cruises' SuperStar Libra is to sail from three homeports – Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Phuket in Thailand – from 3 September 2017, opening the ship up to domestic passengers and also international fly-cruise guests.

While SuperStar Libra has previously homeported in Penang, this marks the first time passengers will also be able to embark at Port Klang, Malaysia’s new main homeport, and in Phuket.

The vessel will sail two cruises per week, including the three-nights cruise from Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) to Phuket and Penang. The other four-night itinerary will take guests from Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) to Langkawi, Phuket and Penang.

“We are extremely delighted with SuperStar Libra’s new deployment in Kuala Lumpur, together with Penang and Phuket,” said Ang Moo Lim, Star Cruises president. “Star Cruises is optimistic this will grow our source markets in Southeast Asia, allowing guests more access to multiple homeports and concurrently developing and stimulating the growth of the cruise tourism sector across borders through fly-cruise options.”
