Tauck River Cruising has joined CLIA North America, making it the fourth river cruise company member of the organisation. It is also the fourteenth company to join the CLIA Speciality Cruise Collection, which promotes the growing river, small ship and adventure cruise sector of the cruise industry.

“Tauck is one of the most revered names in travel and it’s a great start to 2013 to have them join the CLIA family,” said Christine Duffy, CLIA’s president and CEO. “Tauck joining CLIA is a reflection of the growing importance of river cruising to the global cruise industry.”

“We’re very excited to be joining CLIA as part of their Specialty Cruise Collection,” said Katharine Bonner, Tauck’s vice president, river and small ship cruising. “CLIA sets the gold standard for professionalism, and they are committed to advancing the state of the art in cruising while always keeping travellers’ needs as a top priority.”

She added: “Tauck’s commitment to those same values of quality, innovation and service has been the driving force behind our company’s success since 1925, so we’re perfectly aligned with CLIA’s mission.”

Tauck’s 118-passenger vessels offer all-inclusive itineraries throughout Europe and its four new vessels, Swiss Emerald, Swiss Jewel, Swiss Sapphire and Treasures, operate along the Danube, Main, Moselle, Rhine, Rhone and Saone rivers.

The 14 different routes give guests the opportunity to embark on themed cruises, enjoy the local cuisine and culture and take in the panoramic views afforded by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the suites and cabins. The company also offers ‘insider access’ shore excursions, such as private canal cruises in Amsterdam, or a private dinner reception and concert at Lobkowicz Palace in Prague Castle.
