Fred. Olsen Line’s Boudicca will enter Lloyd Werft’s Bemerhaven yard for a six-day drydock on 5 November 2013.
The Lloyd Werft team, led by senior project manager Carl Ratjen, will replace the 880-passenger vessel’s bow thruster plant and carry out extensive repairs to the rudder, the seacocks and the piping system. The ship’s hull will also be re-coated.
“We will only be in a position to determine how extensive and complex that work is when the ship has been drydocked,” said Ratjen.
Boudicca is the fourth Fred. Olsen ship to undergo technical renovation at Lloyd Werft in the last two years, following the refit of Black Watch in 2011 and Braemar and Balmoral in 2012.
The 28,551gt ship will resume service on 12 November.
