Paul Gauguin Cruises’ newest ship, Tere Moana, was christened at an official dockside ceremony in Marigot, St Martin, on 29 December 2012.
The event was attended by cruise guests, local dignitaries and media representatives, including Paul Gauguin Cruises chairman and Pacific Beachcomber CEO Richard Bailey, his wife and the vessel’s Godmother Mireille Bailey – who christened the ship – and Paul Guaguin Cruises president Diane Moore. Attendees were serenaded by music from a Caribbean steel drum band, followed by a champagne reception and onboard gala dinner, before Tere Moana embarked on an inaugural seven-night Caribbean voyage. The vessel will be calling at islands in the French West Indies, British Virgin Islands and St Kitts & Nevis.
Moana sets sail for 13- and 14-night Panama Canal cruise in January and February 2013. The 45-stateroom, 90-guest ship will embark on a number of seven-night voyages between April and November 2013, with 14-night transatlantic crossings scheduled between Europe and the Caribbean between spring and autumn.
Paul Gauguin Cruises is owned by French Polynesia’s luxury hotel and cruise operator, Pacific Beachcomber.
