TGE Marine Gas Engineering is to deliver its liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel systems for AIDA Cruises’ two newbuilds, which are due for delivery in March 2015 and 2016.

The company will supply the systems to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which has started construction of the first ship at its Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works in Japan.

As the first cruise vessels in the world with dual-fuel engines, AIDA’s ships will be able to run on both LNG and traditional marine fuels. The ships will accommodate 3,300 passengers and weigh 124,500 gt.
