Northern Ireland-based outfitting firm The Deluxe Group has secured a £30 million contract ($38 million) to outfit a new cruise ship being built in Germany.
Prefabrication for the project will take place at The Deluxe Group’s expanded workshops in Northern Ireland, which recently benefited from a £1.5 million ($1.9 million) investment. This created 30 new jobs and extended the facility to 40,000 –square feet. A team will then spend 12 months fitting out dining and entertainment spaces onboard the new vessel.
The company will use 3D digital technology in the design and manufacturing phases to ensure precision and efficiency, which will allow it to meet the demanding project timelines.
“Clients seeking to bring to life their imaginative concepts, now see The Deluxe Group as a one-stop-shop with our in-house design, joinery and composites workshops pushing the boundaries of creative fabrication,” said Colm O’Farrell, executive chairman of The Deluxe Group.
Once complete, the ship will set sail in the Far East in 2025.
