Virgin Voyages’ third cruise ship is to be named Resilient Lady and offer two different Mediterranean itineraries when she first sets sail in summer 2022.
The vessel’s name was revealed during a virtual event on International Women’s Day (8 March 2021) in a move Virgin Voyages said symbolised “the spirit of its Lady Ships” and celebrated “women and their achievements, strength, leadership and resilience”.
“Welcoming Resilient Lady to our fleet and revealing these amazing itineraries sets the tone for the most memorable summer voyage,” said Tom McAlpin, CEO and president of Virgin Voyages. “We know the time to travel is on the horizon, and Virgin Voyages is here so that we can keep dreaming of irresistible vacations ahead.”
Resilient Lady will be the second Virgin Voyages ship to debut in the Mediterranean, alongside her sister ship, Valiant Lady. One itinerary will take sailors (Virgin Voyages’ term for guests) to the Greek Isles, with calls in Athens, Santorini, Rhodes, Crete and an overnight in Mykonos. The other will depart from Athens and include a sea day and calls in Dubrovnik, Croatia; Kotor, Montenegro; and Corfu and Argostoli in Greece.
“Sailing in the Med is such an extraordinary experience, and we’re so excited to bring the adventure of a Virgin Voyage to this beautiful place,” said Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group. “I’m so proud of the incredible work the team has accomplished to introduce Resilient Lady.”
