Italian shipbuilder T.Mariotti has completed extensive renovation work onboard Seabourn Quest, following a short drydock period between 13 May and 2 June 2013.
During the drydock, T.Mariotti and its interior design company Gerolamo Scorza installed four new Penthouse Spa suites, located directly above the vessel’s Spa at Seabourn facility. The 48-50 sqm cabins suites feature a living/dining area with seating for four, a separate bedroom, walk-in closet, floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors onto a 16sqm veranda, a bathroom with a tub and spa shower, and two flat-screen TVs.
The Genoa-based company also installed two additional cranes on aft deck six, a new water ballast treatment system and four additional cradles for the Zodiac rafts, which will be used on the line’s Antarctica cruises.
“Despite the very short time at shipyard, the new features on board are impressive, enhancing the award-winning Seabourn experience with the addition of new Penthouse Spa Suites, plus some modifications to accommodate Zodiac landings on the upcoming Antarctica sailings. This was also an occasion to renew the team spirit between Seabourn and T.Mariotti,” said Marco Bisagno, chairman of T.Mariotti and Genova Industrie Navali holding.
In addition, contractors carried out general upgrades and refurbished the crew areas with the features onboard Seabourn Odyssey and Seabourn Sojourn.
Seabourn Quest was delivered by T.Mariotti in 2011, when it became the third sistership in the fleet’s Odyssey-class.
“We were pleased to return Seabourn Quest to Mariotti to ensure that our new Penthouse Spa Suites reflect the same fine craftsmanship and attention to detail that have been hallmarks of all three Odyssey-class vessels,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn.
