Seabourn Ovation and Oceania Cruises’ Nautica both berthed in French city for the day

France's Ports of Toulon Bay hosted two inaugural cruise calls at its downtown terminal for the first time on 21 October – one from Seabourn Ovation and the other from Oceania Cruises’ Nautica.
To celebrate the double call, the port authority converted the cruise terminal into a converted into a Provençal village, where cruise guests were able to taste local delicacies and rosé wine, watch music and dance performances from a local folk group, and play the traditional French bowls game pétanque.
Representatives from the port authority also presented the captains of both ships with commemorative plaques, before inviting them and their management teams onshore to participate in an inter-ship pétanque competition (won by Oceania Cruises). The group then had lunch onboard Nautica.
Oceanica Cruises, which is a regular visitor to Toulon, has scheduled eight calls at the port in 2019. Seabourn has also booked five calls.
