UK-based marine interior refurbishment firm Trimline has completed a ten-day renovation of Thomson Cruises’ 34,000gt ship Thomson Celebration.
Part of Thomson’s 2015 modernisation strategy, the refit took place in wet dock in Limassol, Cyprus and involved 86 Trimline employees.
“Working on Thomson Celebration has been a great example of how our teams can turn around large-scale refits in very short time frames,” said Andrew Richards, CEO at Trimline. “This is something we are proud of as a business and allows us to work well with so many of our customers. Heading into our 50th year in 2015, this is an aspect that will continue to strengthen our service in the years to come.”
During the project, the ship’s Horizons bar was fitted with a new Amtico dance floor and soft furnishings from Trimline’s Southampton, UK, workshop. The chairs were also reupholstered, while new curtains, sofas, banquette seating, carpet and deck heads were also added.
Meanwhile, the lights in Hemingway’s Bar were replaced with LED bulbs and new electric sliding doors were fitted to the Lido deck to create an automatic exit and entrance.
In addition, the old Sports Deck was converted into a Sun Lounge area and now features a new canopy, a stainless steel bar, dishwashers and ice machines.
The flooring, panelling and deck heads in seven elevators were also replaced, while the public toilets were retiled.
