Marine interior refurbishment firm Trimline has launched its In-Service Support Department, which will identify, plan and deliver maintenance services to vessels ‘on the run’.

The In-Service Support team’s surveyors will carry out ongoing condition reporting and assessments to identify necessary repairs and improvements across the vessel. This will include the galley, laundry, wet rooms, pools, spas, dance floor, carpeting and flooring, carpentry, joinery, upholstery, tiling, bulkheads and deckheads. Surveyors and clients can also use a web portal to report issues instantly, and to quickly establish budgets and deadlines.

Trimline will then carry out the work while the ship is in service, preventing the shipowner from losing revenue.

The team will be managed by newly appointed director Ian Jolliffe, who has 15 years of experience in marine engineering and business improvement at Sunseeker. Jolliffe will be supported by Ieuan Wathen, Catering In-Service Support Manager. It is expected that the department will grow rapidly and contribute 30% of Trimline’s total turnover within three to five years.

“Trimline is the first and at present only supplier to offer this unique service,” said Ian Jolliffe. “Our focus is to deliver excellent value and to constantly improve passenger experience by maintaining everything from galley to upholstery in between scheduled full refurbishments. We will be operating as a true one-stop-shop and it goes without saying that we will maintain the high standards for which Trimline is renowned.”

Trimline, which also carries out full turnkey marine refurbishments, will provide 24-hour support to fleets in excess of 50 vessels.
