UK-based marine interior refurbishment firm Trimline has completed refit work onboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Line’s Black Watch.
During the project, Trimline’s joiners handcrafted a nine-metre photo display unit from lightweight aluminium nomex, cherry laminate and solid cherry edging in less than five weeks. The team also made a number of bespoke display cabinets to complement the large photo display unit.
Joining the 28,000gt ship in the UK port of Newcastle last November, two Trimline fitters sailed onboard to Hamburg, Germany, to complete the installation of the photo display unit.
“We have been thoroughly impressed with the work that Trimline has completed on Black Watch,” said Sarah Stebbings, deputy hotel operations director at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. “It was able to work to a very specific brief, in a very short time frame, and the quality of workmanship has been excellent.”
Trimline has also been contracted to complete refurbishment work on Fred. Olsen’s flagship, Balmoral. During the refit, Trimline will create a bespoke photo display unit and replace bulk heads, deck heads and cabinets. The team will also update the onboard photo kiosk.
