Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Triumph re-entered service on 13 June after undergoing extensive repairs and upgrades following an onboard fire on 10 February.

Triumph left Freeport’s Grand Bahama Shipyard and arrived in Galveston on 14 June before resuming its year-round schedule of four- and five-day cruises to Cozumel and Progreso in Mexico.

As part of a US$300 million fleetwide enhancement programme launched on 17 April, the line installed new operating systems to prevent a potential loss of primary power, an additional emergency back-up generator and upgraded fire detection and suppression systems.

While the ship was out of service, Carnival also added a range of its popular Fun Ship 2.0 features including Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Alchemy Bar, EA Sports Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar.
