Un-Cruise Adventures has appointed long-serving executive Tim Jacox as president and chief operations officer.
Jacox, who has worked in the travel industry for more than 30 years, has held various sales and marketing, and executive management roles at Un-Cruise Adventures for the past 14 years. In 2009, he was appointed as the line’s principal and executive vice president and worked in partnership with principal and CEO Captain Dan Blanchard to reorganise and expand operations.
As president and COO, Jacox will oversee the operations, marketing and sales, accounting and administration departments in the company’s Seattle-based office. His role change is the latest in a series of recent and ongoing initiatives to expand Un-Cruises, which include a new reservation system, a refreshed website, investment in additional support personnel and office space.
“I am truly excited to lead such an outstanding, experienced, skilled and unrelenting group of team members at Un-Cruise Adventures,” said Jacox. “Small-ship cruising has been in my blood since first starting in the industry in 1979 and working with travel agent partners stands as a mainstay of my career.”
Un-Cruise Adventures has a fleet of eight small ships and river vessels that can accommodate between 22 and 88 guests on itineraries in Alaska, Columbia/Snake Rivers, the Pacific Northwest, Mexico, Hawaii, and Central and South America. In 2015, the company is set to welcome 13,350 guests and in 2016, it will begin sailing in the Galápagos Islands, Costa Rica and Panama for the first time.
