Un-Cruise Adventures is to provide guests with various perks to celebrate 20 years of providing small-ship adventure cruises in 2016.

The Seattle-based company, which began as American Safari Cruises with one yacht in 1996, changed its named to Un-Cruise Adventures in 2013. Between 2009 and 2014, the line expanded its fleet from three yachts carrying 12-36 guests, to eight ships carrying 22-88 guests. It has also sails to more destinations including Alaska; coastal Washington; Columbia & Snake Rivers; Hawaii; British Columbia, Canada; and Mexico. This year, it will also begin operating in Galápagos, Costa Rica and Panama.

“I attribute much of our success to the passion for adventure shared among staff and leaders here,” said Captain Dan Blanchard, the company’s CEO. “Recognising the dramatic upswing in adventure travel’s popularity over the last two decades, we maximise the potential of small ships to get close to wildlife, wilderness and authentic cultures.”

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the company will offer a ‘celebratory toast and anniversary dessert extravaganza’ on every cruise, sell limited edition 20th anniversary merchandise onboard the ships, provide new chairman’s theme cruises, and make a donation to Tourism Cares for each guest that visits Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska. Guests will also benefit from discounts on select cruises throughout the year, while the company will offer two cruise giveaways via an essay contest that begins on 26 February.
