Valletta Cruise Port, SMS International Shore Operations and local handling agents organised a series of celebrations to mark Costa Cruises’ sixty-fifth anniversary when two of the line’s ships called in Malta.

Costa Favalosa, which visited on 29 March and 5 April, and Costa Fascinosa, which called on 2 April, were greeted by an eight-cannon salute, a 15-piece band and girls dressed in traditional costume. The Malta Tourism Authority also staged an Inguardia re-enactment showing the events of the Knights of St John period.

“The business relationship between Valletta and Costa Cruises goes back a considerable number of years. We look forward to yet another joint fruitful year,” said John Portelli, CEO of Valletta Cruise Port.
