Small-ship operator Variety Cruises is to offer several new itineraries in 2015.

This year, guests can opt for the new Aegean Mosaic itinerary, which will include visits to archaeological sites in the Greco-Roman cities of Ephesus, Pergamon and Troy on the Turkish coast. The ship will also call at Athens and other Greek ports.

Variety Cruises will also offer a Madagascar & Mozambique cruise, which will enable guests to sail to the Seychelles, go snorkelling and diving, visit the Amber Mountain and the Akarana National Park. Other highlights include visits to various volcanic lakes and tropical forests, a WWF sanctuary on Nosy Hara-a to see animals such as Hawksbill turtles, chameleons and flying foxes, or Nosy Komba, home of sacred black lemurs.

Meanwhile, guests can also choose a ten-day cruise to the Canary Islands, located off the Moroccan coast. Highlights of the trip include calls at several UNESCO World Heritage Sites; La Gomera Island, which was the final port of call on Christopher Columbus’ journey to the Americas; and wineries in Lanzarote. Guests will also visit the island of Tenerife to see its laurel forests with a 17km-long lava tube and large rock formations, which date from the Tetiary period.
